Derry/London-Derry

here you have few pictures of Derry (named by nationalists) or London Derry (named by unionists).
this city of Northern Ireland is fairly famous because it's the place where the troubles began at the end of the 1960's, after a nationalists demonstration had been repress with violence.
nowadays, in this city, unionists and nationalists areas are separated by the river (except for a small unionist area lost in the middle of the nationalist one) but historically, unionist were living inside the walls whereas nationalists were living outside.

Irish flag signification

Strongly inspired by the French Revolution, the Irish flag was adopted officially only from 1937 with the new Irish Constitution.
This flag represents the reconciliation between the Catholic (green) and the Protestants (orange). The white is the color of peace.
